What is myotherapy and what can it help with?
Myotherapy is closely aligned with physiotherapy and remedial massage. Myotherapists at Latrobe Health Centre use a range of methods to help people eliminate pain, improve mobility and enhance quality of life. Each of our myotherapists will use a variety of massage techniques as well as other soft tissue therapies. They are skilled in the use of dry needling techniques and sports taping, and often prescribe exercise and rehabilitation programs and will assist with any necessary lifestyle modifications. We value a team based approach at Latrobe Health Centre, and when required, our myotherapists work closely with our other allied health practitioners to give you the highest quality care.
Some conditions that our myotheraists help people with on a regular basis include:

- Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries
- Workplace injuries
- Jaw pain and clicking
- Back, neck and thoracic pain
- Calf and achilles injuries
- Tension headaches

Not all our myotherapy patients are in pain at the time of treatment. We see many athletes of all abilities who seek our myotherapy treatment to maintain mobility and flexibility, prevent injuries an maintain peak performance.
Myotherapy treatments are eligible for private health insurance rebates from most private health insurance funds. Our myotherapists also treat patients who are claiming their treatment through WorkSafe.
